A new networking community for women working across the property and construction industry has made a successful debut in Northamptonshire after its inaugural event sold out.
Around 40 women gathered at Delapré Abbey for the first Women in PropConnect, an afternoon of networking, collaboration and conversation designed to strengthen connections across the sector.
Organised by the PropConnect team, the event brought together professionals from a wide range of property and construction disciplines, creating opportunities to share experiences, build new relationships and explore future collaborations.
Opening the event, organiser Karen Bhangal said Women in PropConnect had been created to offer more than a traditional networking event.
She said: “Women in PropConnect isn’t just another networking event. It is about building a genuine community. It’s about creating a supportive and empowering space for women to work together, collaborate and build friendships where we can celebrate successes and openly discuss the challenges that we face.
“We want business to happen here. We want collaborations, referrals, partnerships and opportunities to come about, but equally we want to build a community where the real value goes beyond exchanging business cards.”
Karen also encouraged attendees to introduce themselves to someone they hadn’t met before, suggesting they could leave with “a new contact, a new collaborator, a new client or even a friend.”
While recognising the progress made across the property and construction industry, Karen said there is still more to do to ensure women feel fully supported throughout their careers. She said Women in PropConnect had been created to provide a welcoming environment where women can connect, learn from one another and build lasting professional relationships.
The sold out launch generated positive feedback from attendees, with organisers already planning future events. Networking, mentoring, leadership, professional development and wellbeing are all expected to feature as the community continues to grow.
PropConnect was founded by Parm Bhangal and Matthew Abraham to bring together professionals from across Northamptonshire’s property and construction sector through regular networking events, knowledge sharing and industry collaboration.
