THREE adventurers from Acorn Analytical Services are tackling the Three Peaks Challenge this weekend, aiming to raise funds for Northamptonshire’s Cynthia Spencer Hospice.
Dan Crask, Max Wright, and Alex Rust began their journey yesterday (September 6), travelling to Scotland to start the challenge with a climb up Ben Nevis. They will continue with Scafell Pike in the Lake District before concluding the gruelling challenge by scaling Snowdon in Wales.
The trio are aiming to conquer all three peaks – totalling a combined ascent of 11,182 ft – within 24 hours.
Ahead of the challenge, the team set up individual Just Giving pages, with each member aiming to raise at least £900. With overwhelming support, they exceeded their initial goal, raising more than £4,000 a week before setting off. Alex and Dan had pledged to shave their heads if their targets were met, and true to their word, both have since gone bald! Now, they hope to reach a new fundraising target of £5,000 for the hospice.
Speaking before the challenge, Alex said: “I’m taking on the Three Peaks Challenge to support the outstanding care provided by Cynthia Spencer Hospice. As a charity, they need to raise £4 every minute to deliver specialist palliative care to patients and families in our community.”
Max added: “We’re thrilled to have surpassed our original target and are incredibly grateful for the support and donations we’ve received for such an important cause.”
Dan said: “We’d love to hit the £5,000 mark for Cynthia Spencer. It’s an incredible charity, and the generosity of our supporters has been amazing. We can’t wait to tackle the mountains together.”
