Time to tend that lawn

IF you’ve barely given the garden a second thought for the past few months, it might be worth turning your attention very soon to how you’re going to get things in shape once spring starts to arrive.

Help is on hand, of course, in the form of Nicenstripy, an Earls Barton-based lawn care and garden maintenance business.

Run by Cathy and Phil Carvell, Nicenstripy offers a value-for-money service to commercial and domestic customers looking for someone to take over the maintenance of the garden, or simply to provide a little extra help in keeping things tidy.

Services include lawn care (aerating, scarifying, feeding, weed control and mowing), hedge trimming and reshaping, light tree pruning, leaf clearance, turfing, gutter clearance, pressure washing and general garden tidy jobs.

Phil said: “People often assume our service only relates to homeowners whose properties have extensive gardens, but a significant amount of our work involves helping people who either don’t have the time or who are simply physically unable to keep on top of a lawn cutting and care programme.

“Although Nicenstripy’s heritage is in lawn cutting and care, our services also include fencing, hedge trimming, gutter clearance, garden tidy-ups and other maintenance jobs to ensure our customers get the most out of their gardens – all year round.”

Cathy added: “I was working in HR and Phil was a civil engineer and we were both looking for a new venture when we came across the idea of Nicenstripy. That was in 2010 and we’ve never looked back. We’ve built a solid customer base and have a lot of regular monthly bookings, so the business has gone from strength to strength.

“A lot of our new customers come to us by word of mouth because friends or family members use us, and recommend us.”
