ADAPTING to the loss of driving force Jeff Whitaker has seen Whitco Catering Equipment Ltd restructuring in order to carry on the entrepreneurial vision of its founder and managing director.
Since Jeff passed away in January, the Thrapston firm has worked hard to ensure that his core aims and objectives are fulfilled and that the reorganised business is as ready as ever to grow and develop.
Whitco has developed a reputation as one of the leading suppliers of catering and baking equipment and an after-sales service that is second to none. Products and services include heavy catering equipment, bakery equipment and accessories, maintenance contracts, service agreements, replacement parts and emergency breakdown cover. The firm also offers project management, a full design and build service including floors, walls and ceiling.
The firm has also added laundry equipment, plug-in and table-top equipment, hygiene products, hot and cold food delivery systems, furniture, interior design and branding to its portfolio, along with a range of other services.
Director Vita Whitaker said: “Jeff’s core beliefs were education, opportunity and security and those words are the pillars of Whitco – in developing and training our team, in encouraging entrepreneurial thinking throughout the business and in creating a strong and successful company for the future.
“Jeff and Whitco’s success is underpinned by his ‘We Can Do’ attitude – to go the extra mile – and it is a tried and tested formula.
“Whitco can provide customers with anything from one-off piece of equipment to a new kitchen scheme through to a total design and build project, with the sales and technical departments working together, sharing a breadth of our experience and knowledge.
“Although we work across the UK, our Northamptonshire customers have always been, and will always be, the mainstay of our business. An example of the innovation Jeff was known for is the availability of our demo kitchen, shortly to be branded “Jeff’s Kitchen” – the kitchen regularly hosts equipment demonstrations during the week to restaurants and other food businesses and will go on hire at a very small fee to start-ups and small to medium sized business who want to develop their products or methods further before taking the next step in the development of their business. “Helping our food and drink community prosper is very high on our agenda”.
“Details of Whitco’s services can be found on the website, with a new and improved site in progress at the moment and set to be launched very soon.”
