JOBS, TRAINING and support were on show at a major jobs fair in Daventry.
The government’s Department for Work and Pensions partnered with West Northamptonshire Council and Acorn Training to run the event, which drew more than 150 visitors and more than 30 exhibitors.
Visitors had the chance to access advice on compiling their CV, tips on job interviews and on starting their own business as well as learning more about the free West Northants Employment Support Service.
Cllr Daniel Lister, cabinet member for economic development, town centre regeneration and growth, said: “Delivering proactive support to enable residents to secure sustainable local employment is a top priority for the council, as well as enabling employers to grow and upskill their workforce.
“We recognise that to effectively support our community, we must work innovatively and collaboratively and are very glad to have partnered with DWP for this event and it certainly will not be the last.”
Employers at the event included Kew Green Hotels, Whittlebury Hall and Northampton and Moulton Colleges. They were joined by others including the Army, police and those in warehouse and logistics, cleaning, security and administration.
