AT THE University of Northampton, we do things differently. As one of the UK’s youngest universities, we lead in driving social impact and adding value to the local and national economy.

Our approach empowers students and graduates to create positive change while fostering meaningful business collaborations. Aligned with regional and national strategies, we focus on academia-industry partnerships that drive innovation and progress, exemplified by the £7 million generated through business collaboration, as noted by Northampton South MP Mike Reader.
Our commitment to creating tangible benefits for the economy is evident in the findings of our Economic Impact Assessment for 2023/24:

  • 300% return on investment: Every £1 spent running the university returns £4 to the economy.
  • £823 million GVA contribution: Injected into the UK economy, with £366 million directly Northamptonshire.
  • 10,610 jobs supported nationwide: Including 5,410 within Northamptonshire.
  • 54% of graduates entering esential sectors: This is significantly higher than the sector average of 38%, particularly in education and healthcare.
  • £7 million in business collaboration: Generated through partnerships, knowledge transfer projects, and placements.
