British Business Bank event at University of Northampton – 7 October 2025
The British Business Bank is inviting entrepreneurs and business owners to a special event on angel investing at the University of Northampton on the morning of Tuesday 7 October, as part of Business Finance Week 2025.
Delivered in partnership with Central Arc Angels and the University of Northampton, the breakfast event will explore the role of angel investors in supporting start-ups and early-stage businesses. Attendees will gain insight into what angel investors are, what they look for in a business, and the advantages and challenges of bringing them on board.
The event is designed for those new to finance or running smaller businesses where accessing debt finance may be difficult — such as pre-revenue or pre-profit companies, or those requiring significant capital investment.
Speakers will include representatives from the British Business Bank’s Regional Angels Programme Delivery Partners, alongside experienced investors and entrepreneurs who will share their personal journeys of working with angel backers.
Confirmed speakers include:
-
Basit Mohammed, Regional Investment Ecosystem Manager, Innovate UK Business Connect
-
Edward Lee, Co-founder and Steering Group, Central Arc Angels Limited
-
Helen Miller, Head of Knowledge Exchange and Enterprise, University of Northampton
-
Jonathan Keeling, Partner, Haatch Ventures
-
Lewis Stringer, Senior Manager, UK Network – East and South-East Midlands
-
Pete Jackson, Founder, JD Fractional
-
Vicky Mears, Director, UK Network – Midlands and North
The programme will also include the opportunity for up to three entrepreneurs and founders to showcase their businesses to an audience of investors, founders, and local business leaders.
