KETTERING Town Centre Partnership was founded earlier this year with the aim of supporting the town centre and giving a voice to the local community.
Chair Simon Cox, from the Kettering Business Network is supported by fellow founder members Sarah Franklin of Sarah Franklin Solicitors, Davina Parkhouse from the Beanhive, Alison Holland from Brightkidz and Donna French from Inspire to Evolve. Alison also heads up a Youth Town Centre Partnership.
Since it was formed in February, the Town Centre Partnership has been liaising with local businesses and Kettering Borough Council to increase communication and encouraging people to shoplocal and realise what an asset Kettering town centre is.
Sarah Franklin said: “New businesses are moving into the town weekly and there is so much going on in Kettering that people just don’t know about. Our plan is to make sure people know what’s happening, keeping things positive, and to help and assist town centre businesses.”
So far, the partnership has managed to get the Gala Bingo Hall listed as an Asset of Community Value; assisted with a fundraising event for the Kettering Street Pastors and made great progress with getting the Council to listen to what the business community needs and wants, including transport, community, trade and retail concerns.
