A major logistics firm has expanded its operations in North Northamptonshire with the opening of a new DX-2 Super Site in Wellingborough.

DX Group, which provides parcel freight, secure courier, two-person delivery and contract logistics services, has opened the new 10,000 sq ft facility on the Ise Valley Industrial Estate. The Wellingborough site is part of the group’s ongoing investment in its depot network to increase capacity, cut carbon emissions and enhance customer service.

Ian Truesdale, chief executive officer at DX Group, said: “We are delighted to have opened our new DX-2 Super Site in Wellingborough. It will provide our operations with greater capacity, increase efficiency and get us closer to our customers’ customers. It also helps to reduce stem mileage and lower overall carbon emissions.”

The Wellingborough site is one of nine DX-2 Super Sites across the UK and supports the company’s two-person delivery division, which specialises in transporting large and heavy consumer goods directly to homes and businesses.

DX continues to invest in its depot infrastructure, IT systems, vehicles and equipment as part of a wider programme to strengthen its logistics network and improve service standards nationwide.
