People working in Northamptonshire’s Creative & Cultural Industries are coming together for a special FREE two-day event, hosted by NEP, on Friday 3 and Saturday 4 June between 10.00am-4.00pm at the National Training Academy for Rail, Northampton. The purpose of Open Space Northamptonshire is to decide how to work together to celebrate and enhance the exceptional creativity and culture in the county. Attendees will be given the opportunity to engage with audiences and funders to discuss opportunities for new projects and how to grow Northamptonshire’s Creative & Cultural businesses to attract future investment. Already registered to attend the event include artists, those in theatre and dance, film-makers, designers, web and games developers, funders and philanthropists, academics, activists, teachers and members of the public interested in the arts. Over 800 Creative & Cultural businesses Martin Sutherland, Chair of NEP’s Creative and Culture Board, said, “There are over 800 Creative & Cultural businesses in Northamptonshire employing over 3,000 people; we are one of the key priority sectors that make Northamptonshire a better place to live and work. We want this event to ensure that we are creating the right conditions for us all to be successful in more financially difficult times. “Everyone is invited to join us, whatever their interest, questions, ideas or issues and, as we are talking about Creative & Cultural industries, we wanted Open Space Northamptonshire to have a creative approach. Therefore, we are delighted to be working with Improbable, creators of the Devoted and Disgruntled programme, to facilitate the two-day event. I’m looking forward to having some great conversations, making better connections and problem-solving with everyone who attends.” The Open Space format is a methodology where all views are welcome, every voice gets heard and nothing is off the agenda, since those attending set it on the day. Open Space Northamptonshire is FREE to attend and lunch is provided. To register (required), required, go to Eventbrite www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/open-space-northamptonshire-tickets-25164465594
