Wellingborough, 6th March 2015 – Nimlok is proud to celebrate National Apprenticeship Week which runs from 9th to 13th March 2015 and will be celebrating this event with allof its apprentices by holding a special lunch on 12th March in their state of the art show room in Wellingborough.
The Nimlok Apprenticeship programme delivers real value, in terms of required skills designed around business requirements and can introduce “mouldable” young talent into the workforce. The majority of Nimlok’s apprentices are young school or college leavers who can help the company develop specialist skills needed to keep pace with the latest technology and working practices in any business sector.
Diane Walton, Nimlok’s Human Resources Manager, firmly believes in the Apprentice programme. “Our Apprentices usually join us straight from school or college, so they are mostly young people with lots of energy and ambition” explains Diane. “They work for us as permanent employees, and carry out their specialist training at local colleges or with other training providers. We can select study modules to suit the type of job that they do and ensure that they follow a proven, structured training plan at a continuous pace to help them gain and develop new skills”.
Apprentices are very much part of Nimlok’s long term strategy. Nimlok see them as being the managers of tomorrow and are looking at developing them, retaining and nurturing them in the business. They are made to feel a permanent part of the organisation as soon as they walk through the door.
Nimlok offers Apprenticeship opportunities across its entire business – from electrical installation, print finishing and welding and fabrication, to marketing, customer service and IT. Nimlok works in partnership with carefully selected training providers who help to deliver the very best qualifications that are mainly accredited via City and Guilds, a market leader, widely known and respected.
Over the past 5 years Nimlok has successfully taken on 16 Apprentices and 10 still remain fully involved, playing key roles within the business. Such an achievement is something to celebrate!
Jessica Glithero who joined as an apprentice in 2013 says, “I decided to opt for an apprenticeship as I wanted to gain first-hand knowledge and experience in business. After completing my Business and Administration apprenticeship I have progressed through the company and I’m now working in the HR department which is a great opportunity and I’m thoroughly enjoying the challenge”.
