THE major refurbishment of the Holiday Inn Corby is good news for businesses said MP Tom Pursglove. The MP for Corby and East Northamptonshire was talking at the official launch to showcase the project which has included refurbishing public areas, all executive bedrooms and a number of standard rooms. “I know our business community will really welcome these great facilities,” said the MP. “Congratulations to everyone who has been involved in the project and I wish them a successful future and well done on creating these fantastic facilities.” The official ribbon cutting ceremony was undertaken by Mayor of Corby Councillor Peter McEwan and David Doran, who has worked at the hotel since it opened its doors in 1991. General Manager Martyn Hewitt was keen to congratulate the developers who delivered ‘on time and on budget’. “We are happy. The hotel team offered a great service through very challenging times but we have got to the other side and we are all the better for it. “The hotel now has a fresh, contemporary look which is warm and inviting, helping guests relax and feel at home.” The 105-bedroom hotel on the outskirts of Corby includes a new dining area which includes a chefs’ station, bar and a ‘to go’ café where the team are proud to serve Starbucks coffee. A new Open Lobby space includes electronic games or traditional board games and an interactive TV which can be used by guests. The hotel has free high speed wi-fi on site and there is access to printing through the E-bar printing link which also features a high spec’ Apple Mac. There are business seven meeting rooms with a capacity from two to up to 250 delegates with a range of packages. The refurbishment has included renovation to the on-site gym, fitness and pool area 3D Health and Fitness Corby. The hotels beauty salon has also been transformed to Pampered and Polished beauty salon. These facilities and the pool are open to non-residents. A conference and events brochure is available from the website or contact the hotel’s events team: Alice Bancroft-Turner – Events Manager and Ebony Willis – Events Coordinator on 01536 401020
