Northamptonshire based meeting venue, Highgate House has achieved a Platinum Green Star Certification for 2016 from the International Association of Conference Centres (IACC) as a result of its commitment to sustainability.
IACC has a rigorous Code of Sustainability which includes 60 tenets in areas including waste management, recycling, purchasing, energy management and food and beverage. Highgate House in Creaton was one of three venues internationally that received Platinum, meaning it achieved 100% of the Code.
The certification is testament to the venue’s ongoing dedication to protecting the environment, embarking on many sustainability initiatives including extensive recycling, reducing food waste and having its own honeybees on-site.
Managing Director, Tim Chudley, said:
“This international standard has helped us to develop and measure our commitment to sustainability, minimising our impact on the environment and growing our commitment to responsible business and our local communities. We know this matters to our people and our customers because it demonstrates how much we care as an owner managed, values driven business.”
