Northamptonshire based business, Sundial Group, has been shortlisted for the Midlands Family Business of the Year Award 2016.
Organised by Family Business United, the awards, now in their fourth year, recognise the diversity, strength and depth of family firms across the UK and seek to highlight the contribution that family firms make to the UK economy.
The Sundial story began back in 1964 when Diana and Michael Chudley bought Highgate House in Northamptonshire and transformed it into a home for their nine children, whilst also running it as a guest house.

The Sundial story began back in 1964 when Diana and Michael Chudley bought Highgate House in Northamptonshire and transformed it into a home for their nine children, whilst also running it as a guest house. It went on to become one of the first country house conference centres of its kind in the UK and the family later acquired two additional county venues; Woodside in Warwickshire and Barnett Hill in Surrey.
Along with three dedicated meeting venues, Sundial Group has grown over the last 50 years to include a team building company and a venue finding agency. Today, it continues to be run by members of the Chudley family and is award-winning in customer service, value for money, food and industry leadership.
Sundial is amongst 11 finalists in the Midlands category and results will be determined through a combination of a judging panel and an online vote for the People’s Choice Award, determined solely by the public.
