New blood keeps pump firm’s success flowing

CDR Pumps in Wellingborough has recently acquired Ashton Pumps, suppliers of specialist air-operated diaphragm pumps for heavy viscosity uses, including within the food industry.

The acquisition adds another string to the bow of the Park Farm Industrial Estate company, which specialises in pioneering chemical process pumps for use in the chemical, pharmaceutical, nuclear and food and beverage sectors.

Most of CDR Pumps’ range is manufactured in Italy, using world-leading technology, and is supplied, fitted and maintained in the UK by the Wellingborough team, led by Ashley Fenn, who founded the company in 1998.

Ashley said: “The acquisition of Ashton Pumps is part of the growth of CDR and adds another specialist area to our range of products. The pumps are suitable for use with heavy viscosity liquids and are widely used in the food sector, as well as other areas of industry in which we operate.

“Their offering has integrated smoothly into the CDR business, raising our profile in the industry and expanding our offering.”

CDR’s portfolio includes the use of many advanced materials, all of which lend themselves particularly well to very arduous aggressive chemicals and extremes of temperature.
