Described as an exciting combination of tank, skateboard and motocross bike, the DTV Shredder is an all-terrain vehicle with two tank treads, a skateboard deck and a four-stroke 196cc engine. Bluetooth earpieces allow visitors to listen to instructions as they go, learning to get the most from the vehicles from the first minute they climb aboard.
Visitors to Avalanche Adventure, near Sibbertoft, can now try them out over the 400-acre farm as well as the usual quad bikes, off-road driving, hovercrafts and race buggies. Other activities, such as archery and clay pigeon shooting can also be built into the package.
Robin Sawyer, who runs Avalanche Adventure, said: “We are the first activity centre in the UK to bring in DTV Shredders and we think they are going to prove incredibly popular. They’re pretty intuitive, so everyone should be able to master them pretty quickly, but they are powerful, all-action vehicles, so we have instructors in contact with riders from the start to talk them through how to master them.
“You can’t spend a long time on them in one go, not at first, anyway, so we do one between two people, so everyone gets to take a breather when they need one.”
Avalanche Adventure has a new, purpose-built log cabin that can be used for meetings and shelter between sessions, making it ideal for corporate or team-building days where the business can be done in the morning, followed by an afternoon of activities, or two groups alternating between a half-day meeting and a half-day activity session.
