Special donation to hospital wards

MIDSHIRES Electrical and Lighting Ltd has, in recent years, donated £1,000 to a nominated charity chosen by a customer prize draw, instead of buying Xmas gifts for customers and clients. But this year they wanted to do something a little bit different. “We used to buy bottles of wine as Christmas gifts for clients and then decided that instead of doing something that is so quickly forgotten, we would donate the money to a good cause instead,” said Ben Fountain, Managing Director of Midshires.

“Usually we ask our customers and friends for suggestions of charities or good causes for the donation and put all the suggestions into a hat to draw a winner. But, this year we have had two members of staff who have been have been supported by two different organisations due to serious illness in their immediate families, so we felt it only right and proper to split our donations between the two charities that they nominated.” The first charity, nominated by Kevin Banks, was Deene B Endowment Fund at Kettering General Hospital, to where Elaine, his wife, was admitted and successfully operated on. The second charity, nominated by Aaron Loasby, was Ronald McDonald House Charities (Oxford House) where his baby boy was successfully operated on. In both cases it was a very worrying time for everyone involved, but Midshires are delighted that everything went well and are able to make a small gesture of thanks on behalf of both Kevin and Aaron’s families.  If you would like more information or like to make a donation then contact Midshires Electrical and Lighting on 01604 403333 or via the website www.midselec.co.uk
