BUSINESS Times, along with the Federation of Small Businesses and Kettering firm Stanair Industrial Doors, will be one of the headline sponsors at the 2016 SME Northamptonshire Business Awards. The awards represent an opportunity to support and raise the profile of industrious, hardworking and enterprising SMEs in the county. Northamptonshire is home to a wide spectrum of businesses in a range of sectors, with smaller companies being the lifeblood of the county, often working alongside and complementing the major players. The SME Northamptonshire Business Awards were launched last month, inviting any business with fewer than 250 employees to enter. Categories include, among others, Best New Business, Business Person of the Year, Training and Development, Apprentice of the Year, Employee of the Year and Networking Group of the Year, and each business is eligible to enter up to three categories. Full details of the categories, the competition rules and how to enter can be found on the awards website. Other Northamptonshire businesses supporting the awards as category sponsors include Chelton Brown, PBC Business Recovery and Insolvency and Wollaston MINI, as well as Northampton Borough Council, Moulton College, Tresham College and Velocity, Northampton Alive. Commercial property agents Prop-Search have been announced as ticket sponsors and Northants Herald and Post are media partners. Julie Barnes-Ward, Publisher of Business Times, said: “We are delighted to be involved in the inaugural awards as headline sponsors. This is our 25th anniversary year and over the years we like to think we have done much to support local businesses and this is another way in which we can do that. “We’ve had a long association with the Carlsberg Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards, and have seen how important those awards have been to the winners, finalists and those associated with them over seven successful years, and we look forward to seeing more businesses benefiting from achieving such recognition.” To find out more about sponsorship opportunities, or how to enter the awards, visit www.northamptonshireawards.co.uk
