A Northamptonshire business has completed a high-profile project in central London, with Welford-based Jones AD delivering new guest spaces at the iconic Cumberland Hotel.

Jones AD was appointed by Clermont Hotel Group to complete the latest phase of refurbishment at the landmark West End hotel, creating a new restaurant space and an exclusive VIP lounge. The project highlights the national reach of Northamptonshire firms operating within the hospitality sector.

The Cumberland Hotel, known for its long-standing music heritage and prominent location, forms part of Clermont Hotel Group’s portfolio of UK hotels. Jones AD worked closely with the operator to repurpose existing areas of the building into spaces designed to support different guest needs throughout the day and evening.

Abi Perry-Jones, creative director at Jones AD, said the project was built around understanding how the hotel operates as a business. “It’s been a pleasure to work with the Clermont Hotel Group once again and to create these very special spaces as part of the redesign for the iconic Cumberland Hotel,” she said.

“The project shows what can be achieved when you really understand how a venue needs to function, allowing the spaces to transition smoothly from daytime dining to evening social use.”

From the client side, Clermont Hotel Group said the Northamptonshire firm stood out for its commercial understanding as well as its delivery.

Paul Knightley, chief operating officer at Clermont Hotel Group, said: “We love the new look spaces and the way that they enhance our guest experience, but what really stood out was the way the Jones AD team took the time to understand our strategic objectives as a business.”

Richard Young, property director at Clermont Hotel Group, added: “We’re absolutely delighted with the results. The new spaces have already proved popular with guests and work well operationally as well as visually.”

Founded in 2009, Jones AD operates from Welford and works with hospitality clients across the UK, securing national projects while remaining firmly rooted in Northamptonshire.
