School refurbishment complete

GOODRICH Consulting LLP are delighted to present the finished refurbishment of the Bedford Girls’ School Science Block area.

Goodrich acted as project managers and cost consultants on another project within the private education sector. The scheme includes the redevelopment of the science department and the renovation of the existing boathouse.

The science block works involved the renovation of six laboratories, one prep room, a locker area, chemical store and staff room. At the heart of the science block an ‘iCreate space’ was formed with a nine-screen LCD TV wall, an illuminated, coloured, LED ceiling light feature and height adjustable tables. A modern curved glass wall encompasses the space giving it a modern look.

The project was undertaken in a tight eight-week window in the summer holidays of 2018 and was successfully completed on time with a good team and careful project management of the budget and delivery.

Goodrich have also been appointed as project manager, cost consultants and CDM-PD on the Pilgrims Pre-School, Primary School project. The scheme includes a new build pre-school along with refurbishment to the secondary school areas within the existing building.

The aim is to create a more spacious and flexible working environment for staff and pupils throughout all key stages of the school. The project is at concept and the aim is to have a planning application submitted this summer with works commencing on site in the New Year.
