Forging important links

FOR anyone starting out in business, however confident they are about their fundamental idea and their business plan – there’s always something more to be gained from getting out into the business community and forging new links.

Networking groups are an ideal place to promote a business to a new audience and regularly lead to alliances being formed – both obvious ones and the more unexpected.

The Business Club Northants offers networking that combines a valuable link with other local businesses with an emphasis on relaxed, sociable meetings that give guests the chance to relax at the end of the day while still networking with like-minded people.

The group offers three evening meetings each month in different areas of the county, with a wide and varied range of guest speakers, as well as a host of training and information sessions that can prove invaluable to a new business.

In addition, regular sales training sessions are provided, and members also have access to a pool of contacts, social events and a database of fellow members.

This month, for instance, CEO Mike Willis is teaming up with Clare Snape of Snape Coaching – who has years of experience working with private individuals, start-ups and established businesses to achieve whatever goals or changes they want to achieve – to deliver an interactive coaching session at Kettering Park Hotel from 9.30am to 1.30pm on Tuesday, 9 July.

CEO Mike Willis said: “People deal with people and building up a good relationship with the wider business community definitely pays dividends. What we have seen again and again over the years is that member companies regularly do business between themselves, or pass on details of other members to their own contacts.

“The meetings are friendly and relaxed and newcomers are always made welcome. Training sessions are part of the benefits of membership and are invaluable in helping business owners, new or otherwise, in building their skills.”
