Surge in hiring reflects growth

OFFICIAL figures showed jobs were created at a record pace in the three months to April, sending unemployment tumbling again. 

Against this backdrop it is great to be able to report that this activity is filtering through into the Northampton property market. We have seen increased take up by investors and owner-occupiers alike, and are very pleased to be offering new space to meet this demand.

In July we will be jointly auctioning the Nationwide Building Society on Abington Street alongside London auction house Acuitus. 13 years remain on the lease with no breaks, offering extremely good security for investors coupled with a rent agreed in 2011.

We are also offering six income-producing flats at Vogue House, St. Michaels Road, which will offer immediate income as well as asset management opportunities.

We are also offering properties to meet demand for local businesses such as 2,000 sq ft  of newly refurbished office space with 10 car parking spaces at 82 Abington Street. This space looks to be well suited to a recruitment company who we hope are benefiting from the aforementioned employment figures. This year we have completed a major investment transaction in Central London on behalf of Henderson Global Investors. The London market is extremely buoyant and competitive but, as Saracens found out recently, London does not always have the monopoly on success.
