Businesses across Northamptonshire are being invited to come together for an International Women’s Day charity ball that will combine leadership discussion, corporate networking and fundraising for a vital local cause. The IWD event will take place at the Mercure Hotel in Northampton this March and is aimed at organisations of all sizes across the county.

Taking place on Friday, 6 March, the evening will mark International Women’s Day under the global theme #GiveToGain. Organisers say the event is designed to celebrate female leadership while encouraging Northamptonshire businesses to invest in positive and lasting social impact.

A central feature of the IWD event will be a panel discussion featuring female founders and senior business leaders from across Northamptonshire and the wider region. The discussion will explore leadership, resilience and success in today’s commercial landscape. Following the panel, guests will enjoy dinner, drinks and dancing, providing a relaxed but professional environment for business networking.

Funds raised during the charity ball will support Northamptonshire Rape Crisis, which will celebrate its 40th anniversary in 2026. The organisation delivers specialist support services for women and girls across Northamptonshire, making it a cause with clear local relevance for attending businesses.

Organiser Joanne MacGregor said the IWD event has been created to appeal to companies and organisations that want their values to be as visible as their commercial success. She said International Women’s Day provides an important opportunity for reflection as well as celebration.

“International Women’s Day is a chance for businesses to step back and ask how they are contributing to the future they want to see,” said Joanne. “This event is about celebrating progress, amplifying women’s voices in business and giving back to organisations that make a real difference across Northamptonshire. Importantly, it is purposeful, professional and a brilliant night out.”

Corporate tables of ten are available, offering businesses the opportunity to host clients, reward teams or demonstrate their commitment to equality and community engagement. In addition, a limited number of individual tickets will also be made available.

The International Women’s Day charity ball will run from 7.30pm until 11.45pm at the Mercure Hotel in Northampton. James Simpson, manager at the venue, said the hotel was proud to support the IWD event and the local charity it benefits.

“We are incredibly proud to be hosting the International Women’s Day charity ball,” said James. “Events like this support the Northamptonshire business community while also championing meaningful local causes. As a result, it brings people together for the right reasons.”
