TWO further sponsors have stepped up to the plate in support of the Carlsberg UK Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards 2017/18.

Leading commercial law firm Howes Percival LLP and Northampton College have joined the prestigious line up of long-standing sponsors, including Booker, Weetabix, Whitco Catering and Bakery Equipment and Northamptonshire County Council, in becoming category sponsors of the competition designed to celebrate all that is best about the county’s food and drink sector.

Howes Percival LLP is sponsoring the F&B Achiever of the Year category and Partner Matthew Talbot, who also chairs its Food and Drink Sector Group, explained why the company is getting involved: “We are delighted to be a major category sponsor of the Carlsberg UK Northamptonshire Food and Drink Awards for the first time. Howes Percival is not only Northampton’s longest established law firm but also one of the few legal advisors throughout the East Midlands to have a dedicated and specialist food and drink team advising businesses small and large in the industry in relation to all of their business requirements.

“We recognise that the food and drink sector is massively important to the UK economy and we have the expertise and experience to help businesses with any issues they may have.”

Meanwhile Northampton College, which has been a partner of the competition since its inception, is extending its support by sponsoring the Great Service Award, something which Principal Pat Brennan-Barrett sees as a perfect partnership: “As a leading college for Northamptonshire, we are delighted to be sponsoring this category. Excellent service is a very important element of our catering and hospitality programmes – indeed it is in the DNA right across the college – and we ensure that our students really understand its importance before they embark on their careers.

“We are also looking forward to exploring the county’s establishments to find some beacons of really good service that deserve to be showcased by these awards, some of which may provide valuable career opportunities to our students once they have successfully completed their studies with us.”

Full details of the ninth year of the Awards are being kept under wraps until the launch which is taking place on Thursday 30 March at Dawn Farms (formerly TMI Foods) in Northampton, co-sponsor of the Chef of the Year category.
