NORTHAMPTON-based web design and digital marketing superheroes Digital Paint have this month announced that they have completed a monumental project for Bud Light to create a website that streams six video feeds of 17 Bud Light Frogs 24 hours a day.
The monumental task was to design and create a website called Channel Frog that featured six video streams of 17 frogs for 24 hours a day over seven days as they go about their working week at Bud Light HQ.
The Channel Frog website would showcase the Bud Light Frogs with seven days of constant video streaming, supported by over 200 scheduled backdrop changes and supporting narratives that added comedic value to the user experience.
With only three weeks to produce, the team at Digital Paint worked closely with an advertising agency in London, local tech partners in Northampton and amphibian experts in Chesterfield to create an HD film set up that would capture the frogs and toads in situ, then stream onto the website 24 hours a day.
While the tech side of the project was progressing, the Digital Paint designers and UX/UI (user experience and user interface) designers worked within tight brand guidelines to create the Channel Frog logo, and full website design concepts before the development team headed up by The Engineer, brought it to life.
The project had extremely tight timescales and was challenging, but the Digital Superheroes delivered ahead of schedule, despite some big hurdles to overcome.
Ben Rogers (A.K.A. Marksman), Head of Marketing and Creative explained: “One of the hurdles we faced on this project was to ensure that the six frog video feeds were synchronised with the 210 narratives scheduled over the seven-day period. Every frog tank we filmed had different species and each frog had its own name and character. It was a great experience for the whole team and I can’t say enough about the dedication the team and our partners displayed, overcoming the significant challenges of uploading and streaming 240Gb of data every day, but we delivered a website that Bud Light loved and that we’re proud of.”
