Silverstone Leasing’s first employee has marked 14 years with the Northampton vehicle leasing business, having joined just months after the company was founded.

Aby Mason started with Silverstone Leasing in 2012, when managing director Scott Norville was building the business and it was delivering around 60 vehicles a year.

The family-run leasing broker has since expanded to supply cars and vans to customers across the UK, while Aby has progressed through a number of roles within the company.

She joined in an administrative sales support position before moving into sales and later becoming head of in-contract. She is now an account manager for Embrace Leasing, the company’s personal leasing operation.

Scott said Aby had helped to shape both Silverstone Leasing’s internal processes and its approach to customers since its earliest days.

“Aby was our first team member, so she has been part of almost every chapter of the Silverstone story,” he said.

“When she joined us, she worked in Customer Care. We deliberately called it Customer Care rather than Customer Service because we wanted customers to know that we genuinely cared about their experience and about doing things properly.

“Fourteen years later, that principle is still at the heart of the business.”

Aby has also been involved in developing administrative and sales support systems used by the company as it has grown.

Scott added: “Fourteen years is a long time, and during that period we have been through just about everything together – marriages, births, bereavements, a global pandemic and all the highs and lows that come with running a business.

“There are three words that sum Aby up perfectly: trust, loyalty and dedication.

“You can invest in systems, technology and marketing, but you cannot buy loyalty or experience. Those things are built over time.

“Silverstone Leasing would not be the business it is today without Aby’s contribution, and we are incredibly grateful for everything she has done over the last 14 years.

“I certainly have a few more grey hairs than I did when we started, but here’s to the next decade.”

Aby was 18 when she joined Silverstone Leasing.

She said: “There’s not many times that I’ve heard of anyway, that someone starts in a new start business at the age of 18 and stays the duration. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, it’s been one hell of a rollercoaster over the years, with many laughs, tears, memories and growth both in business and personally.

“I’ve grown up at Silverstone and Scott has genuinely helped me become the woman I am today. Thank you for giving me the opportunity 14 years ago Scott. Forever grateful, forever Silverstone.”

Silverstone Leasing was founded in Northamptonshire in 2012 and is based at Preston Deanery, Northampton. The company operates as a car and van leasing broker serving customers across the UK.
