RUSHDEN-based Inter County Cleaning Services Ltd has been in service for over 40 years. Keith Nicholson set the business up with two original directors at High Street South and decades later continues to run the business alongside his wife, Lorna, their children and many long-serving members of staff.
Cleaning has always been at the heart of the business although over the years it has expanded, enabling the team to offer their customers several services from under one roof which, in more recent days, has been the town’s Brindley Close.
The waste management and specialised cleaning department is headed up by daughter Martine Harlow.
Martine and her team have long-running working partnerships with many housing associations and local councils to undertake a wealth of services. This includes carrying out void cleans, clearing bin areas and community areas, including fly-tipped rubbish. A fully licensed, eco-friendly and affordable waste management solution for all.
The team understand the importance of being part of the community and latest support includes Inter County becoming proud sponsors of the Rushden and Higham RUFC Under 11 team.
In 2017, Inter County became members of the National Association of Wheeled Bin Washers. This enables the team to offer commercial and residential customers with an eco-friendly bin cleaning service, cleaning 99 per cent of those germs found in your bins and leaving them smelling clean and fresh.
This year has seen another acquisition, which has given the team an opportunity to expand the bin cleaning customer base. The extra machine and dedicated staff mean the business can now offer the service across Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire, visiting residents’ properties on the day their bins are emptied.
All work is fully licensed and insured which gives additional peace of mind.
Inter County Ltd has a NEBOSH qualified operative, as well as holding corporate membership of the British Institute of Cleaning Science and becoming a member of Check a Trade this year. Inter County also holds accreditations such as ISO 9001:2008, CHAS, Worksafe Contractor and Constructionline.
