Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce has launched its latest Quarterly Economic Survey (QES), calling on firms across the county to share their experiences and concerns.
The QES is the UK’s largest independent business survey, with results feeding directly into Government, the Bank of England, and HM Treasury. It provides decision-makers with vital insight into the realities facing businesses on the ground.
Findings from the previous quarter revealed that inflation has overtaken taxation as the top concern for local firms, with 56% of respondents identifying it as their biggest challenge. Despite this, businesses across the county continue to demonstrate resilience in the face of economic pressures.
“This survey is one of the most important tools we have to ensure the voice of Northamptonshire businesses is heard loud and clear at the highest levels,” said Simon Cox, Head of Policy at Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce. “It is particularly vital for small and medium-sized firms, which make up the backbone of our local economy, to share their views. Their feedback ensures that the challenges and opportunities they face are fully understood by policymakers.”
