Franklins Solicitors LLP has announced the 12 charities that will take part in its 2026 £50 Challenge, running from 23 February to 29 May 2026.
Returning charities include The Northampton Hope Centre, Cynthia Spencer Hospice, The Lewis Foundation, The Air Ambulance Service, Arthur Ellis Mental Health Foundation, and Rainbows Hospice. They are joined by six new partners: Action 4 Youth, FoodCycle, Spinal Injuries Association, MK Snap, Milton Keynes Community Foundation, and Medical Detection Dogs.
The annual challenge invites businesses and organisations to form fundraising teams, each supporting one of the chosen charities. Franklins gives each team £50 to invest creatively, turning it into as much money as possible for their cause during the three-month campaign.
The 2025 challenge raised nearly £60,000, and the firm hopes to surpass that figure next year.
“The £50 Challenge is a brilliant way for local businesses to get involved in fundraising while supporting charities that matter most to them,” said Andrea Smith, partner at Franklins Solicitors and campaign champion. “We can’t wait to see the creativity and energy next year’s teams bring.”
Charities praised the campaign for its community impact. “It’s always amazing to see the inventive ways teams raise funds,” said Nina Gandy, corporate partnerships fundraiser lead at Cynthia Spencer Hospice. “We’ve been part of the challenge since the beginning and can’t wait for 2026.”
Rebecca Starmer, corporate partnership fundraiser at Rainbows Hospice, added: “Last year was our first time taking part, and we’re thrilled to be chosen again. It means a lot to the young people we support.”
New participants are equally enthusiastic. “Being chosen as a charity partner is an honour,” said Sallie Stone-Bearne, fundraiser at the Spinal Injuries Association. “It’s a great platform to raise awareness and build relationships with local businesses,” added Charlotte Richardson, corporate partnerships manager at Medical Detection Dogs.
Now in its ninth year, the Franklins £50 Challenge continues to inspire creativity, teamwork and community spirit across Northamptonshire and Milton Keynes. Businesses interested in joining can register at www.franklins50.co.uk.
