A Northampton Ascot event is returning this summer, with businesses encouraged to attend as teams to support local hospice care.

Cynthia Spencer Hospice charity will host its Royal Ascot Ladies Day experience on Thursday 18 June at the Mercure Hotel Northampton. Following the success of last year’s event, organisers are inviting groups of colleagues, clients and friends to take part in the charity event.

The day offers a mix of live racing and social activity, making it suitable for informal team building or client entertainment. Guests can watch Royal Ascot coverage from 1pm to 7pm, while enjoying a welcome drink and afternoon tea included in the ticket price.

All funds raised will support Cynthia Spencer Hospice, which provides essential hospice care services to patients and families across West Northamptonshire. As the charity marks 50 years of service, events like this remain an important source of income.

Sarah Sturman, community and events fundraiser at Cynthia Spencer Hospice, said the event is designed to bring people together while supporting a local cause. She said last year’s event attracted a wide mix of attendees, including groups attending as part of workplace socials.

“Ladies Day is known for its atmosphere and sense of occasion,” said Sarah. “However, our Northampton event makes that experience accessible locally, whether you’re coming with friends or as part of a team.”

She added that group bookings are particularly encouraged. “It works really well for colleagues looking to spend time together outside the workplace, while also supporting hospice care in their community.”

The event will include a sweepstake, raffle, auction, music and a photobooth, alongside a licensed bar. Therefore, it offers a balance of entertainment and fundraising throughout the afternoon.

Races begin at 2.30pm, with the final race at 6.10pm. Tickets cost £50, with table seating allocated in advance. The event is open to those aged 18 and over.

Sponsorship opportunities are also available for businesses that want to further support the charity event. As a result, the Ascot event is expected to attract a broad mix of attendees from across Northamptonshire.

Cynthia Spencer Hospice provides inpatient and outpatient care, alongside specialist support in local hospitals. Consequently, fundraising initiatives like this Ascot event continue to play a key role in sustaining services.
