Northampton College has been ranked the country’s leading provider for the Level 3 Installation and Maintenance Electrician apprenticeship.
The college recorded an achievement rate of 86.2 per cent in the latest figures published by Find a Training Provider, based on Department for Education data for 2024/25.
That result put Northampton College 26.3 percentage points above the national average of 59.9 per cent. It also achieved a 100 per cent pass rate among the cohort of 30 apprentices covered by the data.
The college said the ranking reflected the practical training and support available to apprentices, as well as its relationships with employers investing in electrical skills.
Deputy Principal Jo Philpott said: “To be ranked number one in the country is a fantastic achievement and is testament to the hard work of our students, apprentices, employers and electrical installation team.”
She added: “Behind these figures are people developing the skills they need to build successful careers and employers investing in the next generation of skilled electricians.”
Philpott said the college’s focus was on preparing learners for the workplace and responding to strong regional demand for qualified electricians.
The Level 3 Advanced Electrotechnical apprenticeship develops the knowledge, practical skills and behaviours required to work with electrical installation and maintenance systems. The qualification is recognised by the industry as the level at which learners can become qualified electricians.
Northampton College also offers electrical installation courses at lower levels. Its Level 2 programme is designed to give prospective electricians a foundation before they progress towards an apprenticeship.
