From Risk to Resilience, hosted by Towcester-based Digital Origin, will bring together cyber security, insurance and legal specialists at Franklin’s Gardens on Wednesday 21 October. The event is aimed at business owners, directors, IT leaders and those responsible for risk and business continuity.
Abbott will share his experience of the attack and its consequences for the business. Cyber security expert Ben Owen, who appeared in the television series Hunted, will give a live ethical hacking demonstration showing some of the methods used to target organisations.
Franklins Solicitors is sponsoring the event. Its managing partner, Simon Long, will join a panel examining how businesses respond to a cyber attack, recover from it and continue operating. A corporate and commercial solicitor with more than 30 years’ experience, Simon will bring a legal and business leadership perspective to the discussion.
“Cyber security might traditionally have been seen as something for the IT team to deal with, but the impact of an attack can reach every part of a business,” he said.
“For business leaders, it raises much wider questions around risk, compliance, communication, business continuity and the responsibilities you have to your clients, employees and other stakeholders.”
Other sessions will examine ransomware and AI-driven threats, practical cyber resilience for smaller businesses and the role of cyber insurance when an incident occurs. Speakers include specialists from N-able, Fortis Cyber and Lockton. The afternoon will conclude with a panel discussion and audience questions.
