Women in PropConnect is preparing to hold its second event after its sold-out debut, as it works to build a stronger professional network for women in property and construction across Northamptonshire.

The event takes place at V and B Northampton on Thursday October 1, from 5.30pm until 8.30pm, bringing together up to 60 women for an evening of wine, food and networking.

It will be held in the venue’s private upstairs room, with tickets including a selection of alcoholic and non-alcoholic wines and a charcuterie board served throughout the evening.

Women in PropConnect was launched earlier this year as an extension of the wider PropConnect networking community. Its first event took place at Delapré Abbey in July and sold out, prompting organisers to add further dates to the programme.

The initiative aims to help women working in different areas of property and construction meet outside their immediate professional circles, raise their visibility and build relationships with others across the industry.

It also provides an opportunity to champion the contribution of women within sectors that have historically been dominated by men.

The second event will be hosted by Karen Bhangal, a director at Bhangals Construction Consultants.

Karen said: “Women are working and leading businesses across every part of property and construction, but they do not always have the opportunity to meet others beyond their immediate area of the industry.

“Women in PropConnect is about bringing those women together, championing what they are doing and helping them build connections with people they may not otherwise meet.

“The response to our first event was brilliant. It sold out and made it clear that women across the industry wanted more opportunities to meet in this way.

“We have limited the next event to 60 guests so there is time to get to know one another, share experiences and begin building relationships that can continue beyond the evening.”

The event is open to business owners, directors, consultants, developers, contractors, investors and those building their careers within property and construction.
