SEPTEMBER has arrived, and Bosworth students and teachers are preparing for the year ahead.
A-Level results day in August was a success with 83 per cent achieving A* to C grades and over 30 per cent of this year’s candidates awarded A* or A grades in at least three A-Level subjects. Students will progress onto a range of highly-ranked universities, including Cambridge, UCL, Warwick, Manchester and others in the Russell Group.
Chloe recently completed her A-Levels at Bosworth and fulfilled her dream of gaining a place to read Law at Magdalene College, Cambridge. In addition, she was awarded a highly-competitive Jardine Scholarship, having been flown to Hong Kong to attend an interview. Chloe describes Bosworth as ‘friendly, academic, and diverse’.
Alongside academic success, Bosworth offers outstanding pastoral care and student support. With small class sizes, (on average eight), and a body of enthusiastic, well-qualified and experienced teaching staff, Bosworth prides itself on ensuring excellent student care. The staff in non-academic areas also take a keen interest in students’ well-being, working together as a team to help assure the very best outcomes for candidates.
The first term of the academic year at Bosworth begins with a comprehensive induction programme, ensuring students have a chance to familiarise themselves with their new surroundings, talk to staff and understand their subject choices and timetable. For ongoing support throughout the year, every student has a personal tutor, with whom they meet regularly on a one-to-one basis to monitor progress. This can extend from academic support, guidance through the process of university applications, to non-academic advice. The teachers choose to be a personal tutor and often state that this is the most rewarding part of their job.
If you would like to find out more, Bosworth College will be holding an Open Evening on 15 November from 7pm. If you are considering your future options for Year 9, GCSE, BTEC, or A-level, or if you wish to learn more about applying to university or how UCAS works then the Open Evening will be a chance to find out what Bosworth can offer. Choosing the right combination of subjects can be critical for your academic future and it’s important to be properly informed. Bosworth has a strong track record of placing students on competitive university courses and experienced staff are keen to share their knowledge.
The Open Evenings is from 7pm at Bosworth Hall, 33 St. George’s Avenue, Northampton, NN2 6JA.
