THIS month marks BTT’s 25th anniversary in business.
BTT was set up by Peter Bright and John in 1995. The business focus was mainly sub-contracting on large cabling projects and delivering its own cabling solutions and the business grew until both Peter and John wished to take a step back.
In 2006, they decided to retire and pursue other interests so they handed the reins over to Peter’s son Robert Bright.
Robert has been in the industry since 1988, working as an engineer for companies such as Phillips, GPT, AT&T and BT. By the age of 25, Robert was working and running major projects such as installing phone systems in all of the tax offices, several banks, hospitals and a nuclear power station.
When Robert took over the business, he changed the direction of the business to be more focused on winning the contracts themselves and extended the core offering to include all aspects of telecoms and many other technologies.
After a year at the reins, Robert met Shiv Passap. Shiv had been working on the network services side of telecoms for several years and Robert saw an opportunity to grow the business together by offering telephone systems and their associated applications in tandem with network services. He invited Shiv to join the business as a Director and Shiv accepted.
Since then, the business has grown year on year and together, Robert and Shiv have expanded the offering further to include security and energy services.
Over the years, BTT has covered most industries but specialises in retail, distribution, hospitality, healthcare and education. Some of the company’s largest clients include SCS, Bookers, Centre Islands Hotels, Evans Halshaw, Hammonds Furniture, Royal Marsden Hospital, Luton and Dunstable Hospital and The Trust Group UK, to name but a few.
BTT puts in solutions for customers which enhance their business and as a result, they become busier but more efficient. The focus is to always keep customers’ businesses connected and help them with technological advances so that they can remain efficient and effective and ultimately, their business grows.
The BTT philosophy is becoming a partner not a supplier and the company retains a healthy relationship with customers so that they have a communications partner they can trust to keep them ahead of any technological changes.
