LEADING national architects, GSSArchitecture, who have their head office in Northamptonshire, are delighted to announce the recent appointment of Tom Lyons as Senior Partner and Ian Bray as Managing Partner, following the retirement of David Allsop who retired in June after 35 years at the practice.
Together, they are supported by a well-balanced team with the skills to allow the practice to continue to grow and flourish across its five offices in the UK.
A partner of the practice for 21 years, Tom Lyons has an impressive portfolio of working across all sectors as well as established, long-term working relationships with many clients. Tom joined GSSArchitecture in 1988 and has worked on a wide range of projects, bringing extensive knowledge and relevant experience when leading GSS teams and particularly within the education sector.
Tom said: “In recent years the practice has grown considerably, opening new offices in Milton Keynes and Newcastle, as well as relocating our Gloucester and Harrogate offices to larger premises. We have been planning for David’s retirement for the past few years and have ensured that the right management structure is in place to continue to serve our clients’ needs. We are looking forward to further enhancing our services and the new challenges this will bring.”
Ian Bray, now Managing Partner, is responsible for managing the business, including accounting and financial matters. Having joined the practice in 1993, he was promoted to a Partner in 2006. As a Chartered Quantity Surveyor, he has an excellent commercial awareness of how design decisions affect costs and programmes of work, and has the ability to think outside the box both practically and methodically. Furthermore, Ian has experience in various sectors, particularly the commercial and education sectors, and is responsible for managing the Practice’s supply chain.
Former Senior Partner, David Allsop, said: “Both Tom and Ian have established their entire careers with GSSArchitecture and have been a major part of the success of the practice. There are challenges ahead and I’m certain that their leadership will have a huge contribution to the future development of the practice as a whole.”
Ian added: “Having had the opportunity to build our careers at GSS, Tom and I are looking forward to coaching, leading and developing the next generation to allow the partnership to continue to grow and prosper.”
