FOR a lettings agency, being built on solid foundations may come across as a bad pun, but the family-run Nigel Davis Property Services in Wellingborough wouldn’t settle for anything less.
Since it was formed in 1977, the firm has prided itself on its professionalism and integrity, seeing only too clearly the importance for both landlords and tenants that they are dealing with an agency they can trust.
Carl Davis, son of the late founders Nigel and Margaret Davis, remains determined to uphold the high standards that his parents set, 40 years ago this year.

Partner Carl Davis said: “There is very little in the way of formal regulation in the lettings industry.
“We have to be able to show that people can trust us, we handle their property and their money, so we need to be professional. We hear too often about people losing money because of rogue traders, so it is important to us not only to have these high standards, but also to be able to prove it through the accreditations we hold.”
Nigel set up the firm in the 1970s working with his wife, Margaret, from offices on Sheep Street, near to the firm’s current home in Beeswing House.
Carl was 17 when he joined the company in 1994 and worked alongside his parents before Margaret passed away in 1999.
By that time, Carl had gained the necessary qualifications to become a director of the company and he and his father continued working together for a further 11 years. Nigel died in 2010.
By this time Nigel Davis Property Services could offer a complete property lettings and management service.
