Home deliveries now account for 25 per cent of Palletways deliveries, having doubled over the past five years – a trend that is expected to continue to increase. Following a review of customers’ requirements, the Palletways Network, the largest Pan European pallet network, extended its normal daytime delivery window to include evening deliveries.
This was predominantly aimed at those consignees that are working but would like to be at home when their delivery is made.
Combined with the ETA service, where customers are given a two-hour delivery window, helps takes away the stress of waiting for goods to be delivered.
PC Howard’s objective is to continue to build and develop its service so that our customers receive a Great Delivery Experience in an age when the customer’s expectations are changing and become more demanding.
The enhanced service assists customers in managing their logistics and control costs and allows them to track their goods every step of the way with the accessibility to notify their own consumers or delivery sites of what is being delivered and when, potentially eliminating unmanned locations, and no longer running the risk of missed deliveries.
The Palletways portal already offers a significant level of visibility and transparency for every pallet collection and delivery. Both customer and consignee have the options of which electronic data platform they can use – desktop PC or Android/IOS tablet or smartphone – the aim being to provide a premium service as standard.
