FAMILY comes first at C Butt Ltd, and they are celebrating a key appointment in October.
C Butt Ltd are delighted that as part of their recent recruitment strategy they have been able to support Paul Speakman with his ambition of becoming a Class 1 driver.
Paul is a second generation member of his family to work for C Butt Ltd, following in his father’s footsteps.
Robert Butt, Joint Managing Director, was delighted to hear that Paul passed his Class 1 test with C Butt Ltd.
“Paul’s father, Colin Speakman was a long term employee of the business, first starting with C Butt Ltd in October 1977. When Paul applied for the Class 1 driver position it was a straightforward decision.”
Paul was asked about his memories of his father working for C Butt
“Dad used to go to Italy every other week and I remember a couple of times as a teenager being able to go with him,” he said. “I didn’t hold any ambition then to go into the business, I sort of just fell into it, but I’m glad that I did and have always held C Butt in high esteem, so I’m really happy to have joined. I can’t thank C Butt enough for supporting me through my licence.”
Jonathan Butt, Joint Managing Director, added: “It’s always good news to be supporting drivers with their career aspirations and as I knew his father I’ve been keeping a closer eye than normal on Paul’s progress. Paul has a young family and is a local guy so I’m hopeful that Paul will be with us just as long as his father was.”
