THROUGH his business, Fensome Locksmiths, it could be responding to an emergency, and in his leisure time Craig Fensome is prepared to take on other challenges. One of the latest is to cycle 360 miles in four days from London to Amsterdam to raise £1,600 for Cynthia Hospice.
Craig, who set up the independent locksmith in 2004, said: “At times it was tough but there was a lot of support and it was great to help such a worthy cause.”
The demands of the business help keep Craig on his toes with services available 24 hours seven days a week and no call out charge.
Craig said: “We aim to be with a customer within 30 minutes in local areas, because when it’s an issue with a lock it usually needs sorting out quickly. We pride ourselves on our honesty and reliability, and the business has grown thanks to just having the right attitude to helping people and making sure their premises, whether it’s at home or commercial premises are safe and secure.”
Fensome Locksmiths can help customers gain access to their premises when keys are lost or a lock has failed, and specialises in UPVC locking mechanisms, patio door, window and garage locks.
For commercial clients, the company can provide mechanical access control systems and window and door bars and grilles for additional security. Projects have included supplying 100 restricted padlocks with keys, and restricted cylinder locks to electric cupboards at a client’s premises.
Restricted master key systems – which allow control over the movement of people within a building, allowing or restricting access certain areas – give firms complete control of their premises.
“We aim to respond quickly to emergencies, when people need us in a hurry, but we’re also happy to advise on bigger projects, whether that’s security for new premises, replacement locks or access control systems,” added Craig.
“Our customers range from large and small businesses or property companies responding to tenants’ or landlords’ requests, through to domestic customers who call us out when they’ve locked themselves out or snapped a key. For domestic customers, we can also put all locks on one key, which makes life easier.
“All of our parts and labour comes with a 12-month warranty, so customers have the peace of mind they need.”
