WITH Q1 2017 over business continues to move on apace at C Butt Ltd.
Late January to February can sometimes be slow within logistics after a busy late December and January sales, of course, and this year was no different. The lull, however, didn’t last long.
During January, we moved ahead with our BRC (British Retail Consortium) project that has certainly been a good barometer of our business. The first hurdle of pre-audit went smoothly thanks to the diligence of Kevin O’Brien, our Compliance Manager, we are now awaiting full audit with great expectations.
It’s been very noticeable that even with accreditation not quite over the line, the initial interest has outstripped the business expectations, that’s great news and underlines the C Butt Ltd strategy of quality, service and value.
January to February is also a good time to meet our customers and discuss their plans for 2017 – nothing stays still for long.
It’s been encouraging that our meetings have been positive with growth expected from many parties and sectors. We have also picked up on new local business early this year and this again is very much part of our strategy, given C Butt Ltd’s location in the hub of the county and new distribution centres being built almost weekly certainly puts us in the right place.
We should however never forget or valued employees. As a family business, C Butt Ltd prides itself on the culture we create, but it’s something that can never be taken for granted. With employment in our sector very tight and competition on every corner we are always looking for way to encourage and engage our employees, whether it’s a Red Nose Day fundraiser, targeted training and progression, or ensuring we get around to the depots regularly this certainly keeps us rightfully busy.
With Easter behind us, C Butt Ltd is seeing business ramp up again and the year is certainly looking positive, new leads are coming forward and the business retention strong. We can never stand still and new exciting challenges certainly keep coming, we look forward to the next quarter with anticipation.
