Management system upgrade boosts firm’s operations

A NATIONAL supply chain solutions firm based in Northampton has upgraded and fully implemented the latest version of its warehouse management system (WMS) across its warehouses, which has resulted in a range of substantial distribution and ecommerce boosts for the company and its customers alike.

The NX Group, which has one warehouse at its head office in Crick and a second at nearby Westgate Industrial Estate, totalling almost 100,000 square feet, has used leading software provider Access Group’s WMS to manage orders for its customers, who access the portal for reporting and order functionalities, since 2015.

Delta, Access Group’s vital software, includes an automated admin and reporting module and a barcode pick and pack feature, as well as automatically handling the inventory and order transactions from software platforms such as Shopify, Magento and Woo Commerce.

The latest version boasts several benefits for both The NX Group and its customers, most notably more functionality, improved accuracy and increased efficiency, as well as an enhanced, user-friendly customer portal for real-time enquiries and reporting.

The system updates have also expanded the functionality of the organisation’s radio frequency (RF) scanners, which can now be employed on a wider range of warehouse activities.

Kinetik Wellbeing, a health and wellbeing manufacturer that allows consumers to manage their health at home with the use of innovative devices, has been using The NX Group’s warehousing and distribution services since summer 2018. Kinetik uses the customer portal on a daily basis, primarily to enter ecommerce orders and run reports.

James Grover, Commercial Director at Kinetik Wellbeing, said: “We’ve always found the customer portal straightforward to use, but since the system has been upgraded we’ve noticed it’s been a lot easier to run real-time enquiries on inventory and orders, which has saved our business time and increased the efficiency of our sales administration. Notifications of our product dispatches have also continued to come through regularly, and we’ve experienced no issues with the system.

“As a business that aims to be dynamic, flexible and responsive at all times, we are keen to partner with similar companies. The team at The NX Group have been consistently professional and helpful since our first meeting, and we’ve always found them proactive and quick to react to last-minute customer demands.”

Peter Connolly, IT and Project Manager at The NX Group, said: “Access’s WMS is an invaluable tool within our warehouse, and the upgraded version contains several features that are considerably more sophisticated and versatile than previously.

“When it comes to receiving, preparing and distributing an order with a tight deadline, a streamlined WMS can save crucial time at both the customer’s and the stockist’s end. Our newly-updated WMS has already proved a more cost-effective solution with multiple advantages for all involved.”
