DAVENTRY Museum has been shortlisted for this year’s People’s Choice Award at the Northamptonshire Heritage Forum (NHF) Awards 2019.
The museum, which is located on New Street in Daventry, has also entered four further awards categories, including the Community Award for The Empty Chair Project. More than 1,000 visitors attended this exhibition, which commemorated the lives of the 114 Daventry soldiers who died during the First World War.
In 2016, the museum won Best Event at the NHF Awards for its first British Science event, returning in 2017 to win Best Event for the Centenary Commemoration of the Battle of the Somme. Sophie Good, Development and Liaison Officer at Daventry Museum, is hopeful for a repeat of this success.
“We are thrilled to have been shortlisted for the People’s Choice award in recognition for our work here at Daventry Museum,” said Sophie. “We are very proud of the events and exhibitions we have run over the past 12 months, supported by our brilliant team of volunteers. Fingers crossed we will be bringing more trophies home with us this year.”
The awards ceremony will be held on 4 July at Holdenby House.
