A quarter of the way into 2017 and Wellingborough based Technocopy Solutions continue to exceed expectations in the photocopier and managed print solutions market.
In a tough arena where a number of large firms are spending big to make acquisitions, Technocopy have found that the personal touch and independence that they are able to offer to customers has led to a number of new business wins in both Northamptonshire and the West Midlands.
2016 – A record year
The 2016 results for Technocopy reflect the hard work and dedication shown by all members of the team throughout the year. Whilst the successful completion of the acquisition of a business in Stourbridge and the launch of two joint ventures in 2016 made for an exceptionally busy year for everyone concerned, the record levels of both turnover and profitability reported are a great reflection of the effort given by the team.
Going the extra mile
Technocopy are fortunate enough to be associated with a number of charitable organisations – The Midlands Air Ambulance, The Wrexham Cancer Trust, Sense, Age Concern and the Cynthia Spencer Hospice to name a few.
This year a number of the Technocopy team are getting in shape by competing in sporting events to raise money for some of these charities – the Silverstone half marathon, the London Marathon and the Macmillan Harborough 100km Sportive are three of the events that members of the team will be competing in.
The company’s close affiliation with the Cynthia Spencer Hospice meant that choosing to be the main sponsor for their Colour Run Event on the 6th of May 2017 was an easy choice. Places are still available to enter the Colour Run and you can enter at www.cynthiaspencer.org.uk
New blood
The continued growth of the business has led to an increase in staff numbers to 20 and the firm employing their second full time apprentice.
Eighteen-year-old Matt Heinrich joined the firm in December of last year in the service department and, alongside his daily work, he is working towards the completion of his apprenticeship in business and administration.
His hard work and enthusiasm meant that he successfully completed his probationary period, and has given the firm plenty to think about when it comes to the possibility of employing more apprentices in sales and accounts in the future.
Managing Director Brad Piercewright said: “Matt has been fantastic since he came on board and has shown a real willing and desire to work hard. He still has plenty to learn but he’s heading in the right direction.”
Speaking about his first three months with Technocopy, Matt said: “I have really enjoyed my first three months with the firm. I learn something new each day and the best bit is that I am earning while I am learning.”
