THE Knights of Old Group, working in conjunction with Mercur Logistics, have successfully completed a UK merchandising campaign for the Beeline Group.

The nine-week campaign delivered 1,777 pallets of merchandising displays throughout the UK and Ireland, and, at peak required 12 distribution vehicles per day.

Having previously worked with Mercur delivering Beeline merchandising displays into Sainsburys, Knights of Old Group were chosen for the 2017 UK merchandising roll out to 182 Bonmarche stores and 536 Tesco stores.

The project commenced after establishing and documenting a method of how to deliver the delicate, oversized merchandising units into store. With drivers normally delivering to RDCs and warehouses, customer service skills were identified as a requirement for the in-store deliveries. Additional customer focused training was provided to all drivers to ensure they delivered Beeline’s vision and values.

Timed booking slots throughout the day, necessitated the drivers and their Beeline District Mobile Merchandisers (DMM) to coordinate throughout the entire process. Arriving independently, but always together, the drivers delivered, unpacked the merchandising displays and on occasion assisted the DMMs with their build. Drivers removed all packaging materials for recycling and/or re-use.

Meticulous planning, team work and additional training ensured the merchandising roll out was without incident.

“The Knights of Old Group scheduled all drivers to solely work within specific regions to establish direct relationships between the driver and their respective Beeline DMM. This strategic approach to the project ensured that working together, the drivers and the DMMs were able to overcome circumstances beyond their control. Even Storm Ophelia, the worst storm in recorded history in Ireland, only delayed deliveries for 24hrs. Within 48hrs, the driver and the DMM were back to schedule.”
