FORWARDING specialist RCS Logistics, a division of freight giant Rhenus Logistics, was among the winners at the recent Global Freight Awards. The business took home the Supply Chain Partnership accolade at the ceremony, in recognition of its long-standing association with NHS supplier Ontex.
The award success recognises RCS Logistics’ implementation of a new paper-free transport management system for the personal hygiene specialist. Utilising its extensive forwarding expertise, RCS rolled-out an innovative digital platform to help Ontex develop a more ergonomic means of delivering its personal hygiene products to NHS patients.
The success of the new system has been proven through patient satisfaction surveys, which have recorded zero complaints about how Ontex delivers from end users since the platform was introduced. Not only has the system roll-out helped Ontex go paper free, it has also prevented 43 tonnes of CO2 emissions from being released into the atmosphere.
David Williams, managing director of Rhenus Logistics UK, said: “The whole team are delighted to see the long-standing association with RCS Logistics and Ontex recognised at such a prestigious event. The accolade is a real testament to the significant changes we have been able to make with Ontex, and we’re looking forward to further developing the relationship as we head towards the new year.”
The Supply Chain Partnership award is the latest in a series of successes for Rhenus worldwide. Alongside launching new facilities in Europe, Australia and the Americas, Rhenus has also secured a string of new business wins and achieved renewed AEO and ISO accreditations.
