BRACKMILLS businesses are invited to a high profile business event and AGM, set to take place on Tuesday, 19 September and being hosted by the estate’s StarTech.com. The Armed Forces Covenant, making a keynote speech, will talk to Brackmills businesses about how they can work with the armed forces. At the event, on behalf of the Brackmills Business Improvement District (BID), BID chair Sara Homer will sign the covenant and urge others to do the same. Brackmills BID Chair Sara Homer said: “I would urge Brackmills businesses to join us and support this Covenant, a promise from the nation that those who serve or have served are treated fairly.” To date, over 1,600 businesses in the UK have signed the Armed Forces Covenant, including Brackmills-based businesses Travis Perkins Plc, Asda Stores Ltd, DHL, Doosan Industrial Vehicle Hire and Maritime Transport. Businesses signed up to the covenant are eligible for the Employer Recognition Scheme and invitation only events. At this Brackmills business event delegates will also hear an update from the BID team about future projects and priorities for the estate. Businesses will also be invited to take part in a photocall to celebrate the Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce’s centenary year. The event will finish with a short AGM. If you are a Brackmills based business this event is for you. Register at www.brackmills.eventbrite.co.uk
