Trio of awards for top firm

TOP 15 accountancy firm MHA MacIntyre Hudson were the big winners at the British Accountancy Awards in September, securing three prizes, including the prestigious National Firm of the Year award.

The firm were also winners of the Tax Team of the Year and Large Firm Graduate and non-Graduate Programme of the Year prizes, making them the most successful company at the event.

Rakesh Shaunak, Group Chairman of MHA MacIntyre Hudson, said: “This is a very welcome accolade for everyone within the firm to win the national award and truly reflects the hard work of all our 900 staff across the UK. This award, along with the successes for our tax team and our efforts with those starting their career in the industry, really showcase the benefits of our employee-led focus and our ethos of bringing true value and understanding to our clients.

“2019 has been a significant year for MHA MacIntyre Hudson, with our enhanced alignment with Baker Tilly International, securing new large PLC clients and recruiting some very experienced professional advisers. We’ve now become a serious challenger to the Big Four.”

Rachel Nutt, Tax Partner, added: “This success for our tax team shows not only how important our commercial understanding is for our clients, but also how our truly personal approach helps keep them on the right path for the future. Our most frequent feedback is for our dedicated service and just how far we go to support our clients, which is something we are so proud of. Our team study every aspect of our clients’ businesses and circumstances to really identify areas and issues they might not have considered, so winning this Tax Team award not only recognises this speciality within the team, but also the consistently high standard of work we deliver for companies across a number of industries.”

Dom Bruno, National Training Leader, said of the Graduate & Non-Graduate Award: “Our approach to increasing our staff training to be focused on the personal, practical and problem solving skills, rather than just the traditional technical skill-set, have proved very successful as our clients tackle constant economic and technological changes to their business. We believe this has really set us apart from the market that relies largely on historic technical knowhow alone, so winning the award for our training programme with graduates and non-graduates as they start their journey means a great deal – as we look to equip ourselves with advisers for the future economy.”
