LIFE began for CS2 in 1999, when a small team of specialist building and quantity surveyors left Lambert Smith Hampton, a large multi-disciplinary practice, to form their own company and deliver customer focused surveying and consultancy services to their clients.

In almost 20 years, CS2 has gone from strength to strength and now has a growing team of over 70 commercial property experts, with five offices based in in Northampton, Birmingham, Bristol, Manchester, London and a sixth office in Milton Keynes. The national spread of offices allows CS2 to offer the most flexible and efficient service possible, ensuring clients receive consistent and reliable advice, every time. CS2 is extremely proud of its client base which ranges from local agents, landlords, tenants, retailers, fund managers, investors and major financial institutions.

Commercial property covers a wide range of buildings to include offices, industrial property, medical centres, hotels, shopping centres, retail stores and warehouses.

The CS2 team offers many services including professional advice on property and construction, producing detailed condition reports, identifying defects and advice on repair and maintenance options. It also advises on the restoration and maintenance of existing buildings, project managing the design and development of new buildings.

The nature of the work may range from the design of large, multimillion-pound structures to modest adaptations and repairs and the team is often called upon to get involved with buildings of architectural or historic importance, giving advice on preventative measures to keep buildings in good condition and looking for ways to make buildings sustainable. Another service the CS2 Surveyors offer is to give evidence in court in cases where building regulations have been breached and as expert witnesses on building defects and dilapidations.
