BUSINESS managers and team leaders looking to improve their leadership skills are turning to Northamptonshire Chamber of Commerce for help.
Last year, the Chamber began running the comprehensive ILM (Institute of Leadership & Management) Management Development Programme. It takes place over a nine-month period and is essential for anyone who needs to increase their management skills, improve their leadership skills and boost their confidence in managing and developing others.
The course proved so popular that a second cohort of delegates has already embarked on the programme which consists of nine half-day modules that help attendees to develop their team building skills and learn how to influence others and manage change more effectively.
Northamptonshire Chamber Chief Executive, Paul Griffiths, said: “The programme is interactive and engaging and the sessions, although based on respectable research and resources, are highly practical.
“The programme is recognised by the ILM so there is an element of assessment which increases accountability and aids the evaluation of return on investment.
“We’re delighted that the course is being delivered by Chamber member Beyond Theory, which is a recognised provider for the ILM. As a result, the course is accredited and quality assured by the ILM, which is a highly regarded awarding body, and successful candidates receive an ILM certificate.
“The course is open to all businesses and I’m delighted to say Chamber members receive a significant reduction on the cost of booking.”
Assignments, in the form of action plans, are set at the end of each module and are evaluated at the beginning of the subsequent module.
Attendance of the programme also means that delegates automatically become student members of the ILM for one year, and have access to all of the ILM’s resources.
